Lesson Four: Building Up the Body

• How is the body of Christ meant to grow and expand? • What is a spiritual gift, and how are they to be identified and used in our church? • In what ways does AF seek to share the good news with the lost in Wichita and around the country, and globe? • How can I be involved in caring for the practical needs of those in the Body, as well as our neighbors, here and those around the world? The goal of church is to go and make disciples of all nations (ethnos, peoples) revealing His love in how we care for others, and testifying of His love by sharing the gospel with those who are lost. And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” ~ Matthew 28.18-20 (NASB) Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ, and gave us the ministry of reconciliation, namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were entreating through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. ~ 2 Corinthians 5.18-21 (NASB) . . . but you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.
