Objection 10: We want to start a SIAFU Chapter, but we don’t know how.
The Argument: “Okay, we’re convinced we should start a Chapter, but we do not have a clue how to start one. How does it work? Does it cost any money? Who is in charge of it, and are there any dues to pay? What if we want to end our Chapter – what then? We have so many questions, and don’t know how to get answers to them!” The Answer: TUMI administrates the SIAFU Network in order to provide urban churches with the administrative and resource support to host effective, vital Chapters in their locales. As an organization whose purpose is to equip leaders for the urban church, TUMI is dedicated to facilitating movements like the SIAFU Network for urban mission. We established the Network because of our deep faith in the power of urban spirituality. When urban churches and their leaders are empowered by the Holy Spirit for ministry and mission, fruit is borne, for God’s glory! In the same way that we resource our training satellites here in America and around the world, so we are also committed to doing whatever we can to strengthen those in the SIAFU Network, in order that they can fulfill God’s purposes in the city. As God has chosen the poor to be rich in faith and heirs to the Kingdom of God (James 2.5), we count it a high honor to support the Network with solid, efficient, and clear processes for starting and running your Chapter. SIAFU is meant to be a resource for urban churches, one which they find useful and handy, and one which eliminates headaches and questions for them! We have sought to make the initiation steps simple and clear, to create resources that are both affordable and helpful, and to keep all policies and processes connected with it culturally sensitive and
