like those who never bothered to attend their own family reunion. This challenge became a career passion for me, so after graduation I founded the Sacred Roots Institute, dedicated to introducing the next generation of Christian ministers to their ancestors in the faith. Joseph, Cesar, and Preacher—my companions on our own journey to discover our sacred roots—became active supporters of the Institute. Joseph is now senior pastor of a growing church; Preacher has become a popular Christian speaker, combining styles he learned from Chrysostom, Ambrose, and especially Tertullian. Cesar—the “Indiana Jones” of our Institute—now leads the Ancient Christianity tours to Nicaea, visiting the Athenaeum as often as possible. Thankfully, we have a man on the inside who stays in touch with the ancient witnesses.
