ministry involvi ng the Word of God to anyone, whether to the saved or the lost, to the mature or to the immature?
7. How does the intercessory ministry of the Holy Spirit play into our actual teaching of others? Why is his illumination and anointing so critical to our understanding the Word as well as applying it to our lives ? 8. What kind of results can we expect when we allow the Holy Spirit to superintend the entire process of the teaching ministry, from the preparation of the lessons to the instruction of the students, and their applications of it? Why must we never rely on our own strength and power to bring about life change in our students? Explain in light of 1 Cor. 2.9-16.

Segment 2: Contact, Content, and Connection in the Teaching Ministry
Rev. Dr. Don L. Davis
Three essential steps make up effective biblical teaching, i.e., in planning out, delivering the content, and making connection with the audience through the preached Word: establishing contact with the life situation of our audience, communicating content of the Word of God clearly and boldly, and making connections through disciplined application of the Word to our lives. We establish contact by paying careful attention to the culture and life situation of the students–their language, the ways in which they communicate, understand, process, and communicate ideas and truths. We communicate the Word of God effectively by employing as many ways as possible to engage our students in such a way as to make the meaning of the text come alive for them, as directly and concretely as possible, informed by Jesus’ own superlative methods of teaching. We make connection by learning to interconnect the content of our communication of the biblical message with the practical concerns, needs, and challenges of our students’ lives. We ought to constantly apply ourselves to design evermore effective teaching sessions, to apply ourselves to become the finest teachers we can possibly be. Our single aim must be that our students come to obey all that Christ has commanded us, and to do so not in their fleshly strength but through the power and leading of the Holy Spirit.
