I. Our Theological Confession

We are unashamedly Evangelical (Gospel, Christ, and Word centered). We unashamedly affirm the Great Tradition of the one, holy, apostolic, and catholic Church. We are those who unite around those inerrant biblical truths that the historic Christian Church has believed for the last two thousand years, no matter what tradition. This is expressed by the Vincentian Canon, “that which has been believed everywhere, always, and by all.” Not only must the Church have belief in it, but it must also explicitly have confessed its centrality. We are committed to embody, articulate, and contextualize the theological confession and strategic practices of the Church in our lives as the people of God in the city. We must BE the Church before planting the Church (see PLANT acrostic on pages 29-30).

B. Embrace our Theological Confession, Strategic Commitments, and demonstrate a contextualized expression of these in theology, worship, spiritual formation, and witness. These contextualized models will allow us and our partners to understand and follow the theological confession and standard practices so that leaders will be trained uniformly.
