We must strive to help urban Christian workers, pastors, and ministers recover the hope of the Kingdom through these texts and scriptural teachings. Therefore, as we explore the implications of this teaching, try to focus on ways that this teaching can be credibly reintroduced in settings which, for the most part, have place the apocalyptic teaching of the Church in exile. Of course, this section of the lesson ought to be driven by the questions and concerns of the students. Still, this need to enable congregations to awaken to a theology of hope, of the Kingdom’s consummation is of critical importance. Your work as an instructor and grader begins in earnest now. Make sure that you have commitments for the ministry projects, exegetical projects, and other data together as this will be important for you to determine the student’s overall grade. Again, your discretion regarding late work can easily determine whether you dock students of points, resulting in letter grade changes, or give students an “Incomplete” until the work is finished. However you adopt your standard regarding their work, remember that our courses are not primarily about the grades that students receive, but the spiritual nourishment and training these courses provide. Also, however, remember that helping our students strive for excellence is an integral part of our instruction. Congratulations, you have finished the Capstone module on the Kingdom of God. We celebrate with you, as co-laborers in the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ! You have led your students through some difficult concepts, and encouraged them through what is arguably one of the most important teachings in all of God’s Word - the Kingdom of God and Christ. Our sincere prayer is that the investment that you have made in the hearts and minds of your students will not return unto the Lord void, but that much abundant and lasting fruit will be borne for Jesus Christ through your efforts, prayers, and work. May God richly bless you as you continue to equip leaders for the urban church!
