Spiritual Service Checklist Rev. Dr. Don L. Davis
1. Salvation : Has this person believed the Gospel, confessed Jesus as Lord and Savior, been baptized, and formally joined our church as a member? 2. Personal integrity : Are they walking with God, growing in their personal life, and demonstrating love and faithfulness in their family, work, and in the community? 3. Equipped in the Word : How equipped is this person in the Word of God to share and teach with others? 4. Support of our church : Do they support the church through their presence, pray for the leaders and members, and give financially to its support? 6. Identification of spiritual gifts : What gifts, talents, abilities, or special resources does this person have for service, and what is their particular burden for ministry now? 7. Present availability : Are they open to be assigned to a task or project where we could use their service to build up the body? 8. Reputation amongst leaders : How do the other leaders feel about this person's readiness for a new role of leadership? 9. Resources needed to accomplish : If appointed to this role, what particular training, monies, resources, and/or input will they need to accomplish the task? 10. Formal commissioning : When and how will we make known to others that we have appointed this person to their task or project? 11. Timing and reporting : Also, if we dedicate this person to this role/task, when will they be able to start, and how long ought they serve before we evaluate them. 12. Evaluate and re-commission : When will we evaluate the performance of the person, and determine what next steps we ought to take in their leadership role at the church? 5. Submission to authority : Does this person joyfully submit to spiritual authority?
