God’s Reign Inaugurated

Since the Fall, the reign of God has been inaugurated in this present world, first, as God’s own predisposition as a Warrior over his enemies, through the covenant promise of deliverance given to Abraham, and through the history of God’s dealings and workings with Israel, his covenant people. Our objective for this first segment of God’s Reign Inaugurated is to enable you to see that: • From the beginning, God has intended to eradicate all disobedience and rebellion as a result of the Fall. • God acts in the world as Warrior against those who oppose his Kingdom in this present fallen realm. • Through his covenant with Abraham, God has given his solemn promise to bring a Seed through whom the shalom and justice kingdom reign would be brought back to earth. • Through the people of Israel, i.e. those covenant descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, God has worked to bring forth the Messiah, and through this One to inaugurate the reign of God into this fallen and sin-cursed world.
