2. The worship of the temple

The Church’s first work as the agent of God is to glorify his name in worship.

II. The Church Is the Agent of the Kingdom of God through its Apostolic Witness.

A. We are called to give witness of the good news of the Kingdom in Jesus Christ .

1. The members of Christ’s body are called to be ambassadors of Jesus Christ, 2 Cor. 5.18-21.

2. The Great Commission, the command to make disciples of Jesus worldwide, is given to the Church, Matt. 28.18-20.

3. The call to witness to the ends of the earth, in the power of the Holy Spirit, Acts 1.8

4. Individual believers are called to give compelling testimony in life and word to those in their sphere of influence, 1 Pet. 3.15-16.

a. A historically demonstrated fact: where Church exists, mission exists.

b. Every congregation and Christian is called to minister.
