In a real sense this great prophetic scene underscores one of the fundamental convictions of saints and sages since the beginning of time. Only God in Christ is worthy to be glorified, to receive honor, praise, wisdom, and strength; for only Jesus of Nazareth, the risen and reigning Lord of all, has proven himself worthy to bring the rule of God into the earth. No amount of warfare, programming, human effort, technology, philanthropy or human good will usher us into the reign of God. The Kingdom’s consummation has always been dependent on the power and will of the Lamb who was slain. Because of this, it cannot be defeated or thwarted. Praise God, since the Kingdom is dependent on the Son, it will be consummated, for he does all things well. All praises be to God, the Lamb alone is worthy to bring God’s reign to consummation on the earth! After reciting and/or singing the Nicene Creed (located in the Appendix), pray the following prayer: Eternal God, our Father, and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, we exalt your name for you alone are the true God of heaven and earth. Your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, among all other so-called lords and gods, is the only one worthy to bring your kingdom rule to earth in full splendor. We exalt your name in him, and pray that you will give us the wisdom and strength to honor and glorify you as that day draws near when your Son will make the kingdoms of the world his own. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
