In this lesson we carefully outlined those elements, both social and spiritual, which opposed the ministry of Jesus of Nazareth as the Messiah of God. Jesus came to earth reasserting God’s right to rule in this world over the kingdom of the devil. Now, in our next lesson, we will see how the New Testament openly reveals the identity of Messiah Jesus in the glorious display of his majestic person and works, and ultimately and powerfully, in his suffering and death on behalf of the world.
