5. Jesus of Nazareth is this Messiah spoken of in Scripture.

John 1.45-46 - Philip found Nathanael and said to him, “We have found him of whom Moses in the Law and also the prophets wrote, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.” [46] Nathanael said to him, “Can anything good come out of Nazareth?” Philip said to him, “Come and see.”

Conclusion

» The OT provides a solid, clear, and compelling witness to Jesus Christ.

» Through his covenant promise, God extended the blessings of Abraham to the Gentiles, to all who believe in Jesus Christ as Messiah. » The Word of God, in both the Old and New Testaments, makes plain that it is God’s intention to save from among all humankind, both Jews and Gentiles, a people that will belong to him forever. » Now, in light of this great salvation, we have been given the privilege and solemn duty to make disciples of Jesus among all people groups, so every people and nation can hear of our God’s promise to save, and his fulfillment of that promise in Jesus Christ.

May God give us the grace, vision, and energy to be true to this call and take the Good News of the promise of salvation to the very ends of the earth. To him be all glory and honor, amen, and amen!
