This unity is both practical and effective for devotional study, exegetical work, and preaching material. What is immediately obvious in this listing is the comprehensiveness in looking at the various characters of the OT, and how in very specific ways their experiences align with the person and work of Christ. This alignment is a sign both of the Bible’s inspiration, as well as its purpose. The diversity of situations, authors, conditions, and persons are brought together in an interconnected and integrated manner, all oriented around the person of Jesus.
