A. The Exodus: deliverance from the powers of Egypt by the power of God
1. Viewed as a new creation where the God who controlled the seas at creation restrained the sea at the Exodus, Exod. 14.21-29
2. As Moses was God’s prophetic vessel to speak to others on his behalf, so Jesus is an antitype of Moses, the revealer of God as the Living Word of God, Deut. 18.15.
3. God’s overthrow of the symbols of evil and chaos, Rahab and the dragon (Job 26.12f) are applied to his victory at the Exodus.
