D. Aaron versus Melchizedek: Jesus is a priest after the order of Melchizedek.

1. Whereas Aaron’s priesthood and its consecration is temporal, Christ’s priesthood (after Melchizedek) is eternal , Heb. 7.21-23.

2. Whereas Aaron’s priesthood is fallible and subject to sin, Christ’s eternal priesthood is sinless , Heb. 7.26.

3. Whereas Aaron’s priesthood is changeable, Christ’s priesthood is unchangeable , Heb. 7.24.

4. Whereas Aaron’s priesthood had to make sacrifices continually to God, Christ’s priesthood is final , Heb. 9.12, 26.
