T he S eason after E piphany

Fifth Sunday after the Epiphany February 7 - 13, 2021 Epiphany affirms Jesus’ presence in the world as hope for all peoples. In him alone, God provides the light of his salvation, making known God’s grace to all peoples, even to the farthest corners of the earth. Jesus demonstrated his lordship in his healings, which occurred in many ways and venues. When Jesus was told how Simon’s mother-in-law lay ill with a fever, he came, took her by the hand, and lifted her up, and the fever left her. That evening, the people brought all who were sick or oppressed by demons to Jesus, “and the whole city was gathered together at the door.” Jesus healed many who were ill with diseases, and he cast demons out of many. In Jesus’s teaching, preaching, and healing, the Kingdom of God was revealed and offered to the people of God. THIS WEEK’S THEME Your Kingdom Has Come, Mark 1.29-39

Preparing Our Hearts

Invocation: Our Prayer of Acclamation Holy Father, who through love sent your Son down to the earth to save a remnant of humankind for your glory, thank you for your grace given in Jesus. In his life, his matchless teaching and preaching, and his mighty signs and wonders, you reveal to us the reality and power of your Kingdom come. While we await its full consummation at our Lord’s Second Coming, we declare that with the coming of Jesus in the world, the Kingdom of God promised through the prophets has come to earth. Let us, your people, display your Kingdom life in all we are and do. Meet us here and confirm your word to our hearts. In Jesus’s name, amen.
