T he S eason after P entecost

Trinity Sunday First Sunday after Pentecost May 30 - June 5, 2021

WEEK 27

On Pentecost we commemorate the descent of the Holy Spirit to earth on Christ’s believers, his infilling of the people of God, the Church. Through him, the third person of the Trinity, Jesus our Lord is now present with his people. The Spirit is the guarantee of the promised inheritance to come. We ponder the fullness and mystery of our God’s person and work in our celebration on Trinity Sunday.

THIS WEEK’S THEME Alpha and Omega: Creator: God’s Eternal Purpose, Ephesians 1.3-4

In eternity past God determined to save a people for himself through his Son. The Triune God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, has no beginning and no end. He is from everlasting to everlasting. In his unending love, he chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world. He set his intention to save humanity and lavish every spiritual blessing of heaven on us. God’s redeeming work in Christ is not an afterthought or a reaction. He loved us and chose us before time that we would be his forever.
