Departing to Serve

Benediction Lord Jesus, thank you for Paul’s explanation of the Gospel here in this passage in Corinthians. This is not an invented or exaggerated message; rather, Paul has given to us what your messengers gave to him. You died, were buried, and rose the third day, and appeared to witnesses. We believe you will return and gather your own to yourself. Give us the grace to stand on the Gospel, till the end. In your name, amen. Affirmation for the Day Sunday: For us and for our salvation Jesus died, was buried, rose from the dead, and appeared to many witnesses. Monday: The same Jesus who died and rose has ascended to the right hand of the Father. Tuesday: The testimony of Jesus’s death, burial, and resurrection makes up the substance of the Gospel. Wednesday: The risen Lord appeared to James, then to the apostles, and finally to Paul. Thursday: Jesus of Nazareth rose from the dead on the third day, as the Scriptures had predicted. Friday: The Gospel and the resurrection are intimately connected; because Jesus lives, we are assured that God has accepted his sacrifice for our sin. Saturday: The Gospel is the saving message of life for all who believe; it is the message that redeems, in which we stand.
