Departing to Serve

Benediction Eternal God, the study of your Word that Jesus led with the apostles reveals your heart and mind regarding his person and mission. The Scriptures have a single narrative unity with an overriding theme: Jesus of Nazareth is the Christ, the Lord and Victor of all! Thank you for the gift of your Son; in him we have your forgiveness and grace, and through him we have eternal life. Teach us through your Spirit to understand your Story, and its overall plot which points to your Son, the Lord Jesus, as our Champion and Life. In his name, amen. Affirmation for the Day Sunday: The story of Scripture narrates the person and work of Jesus of Nazareth. Monday: Everything written about Jesus in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms will be fulfilled. Tuesday: Jesus opened the mind of the apostles to understand how the Scriptures spoke of his death and resurrection. Wednesday: The Good News of Scripture declares that Jesus should suffer, and rise from the dead. Thursday: The Scriptures teach that God offers forgiveness in Jesus’s name to all nations, beginning in Jerusalem. Friday: The apostles bore firsthand testimony of Jesus’s death, resurrection, and ascension. Saturday: Jesus saw himself as the subject and theme of the Bible’s narrative. Pray without Ceasing – Flash Prayer for the Day Blessed be the Father, who gave his Son for the world; blessed be the Lord Jesus Christ, who reigns as King above; and blessed be the Holy Spirit, who clothes us with power from on high.
