T he S eason after P entecost

Thanksgiving Day November 25, 2021

According to God’s holy promise, the saints of Christ will dine at the marriage supper of the Lamb, a feast of love and communion with the risen Lord and Savior himself. The Feast of Christ the King, the last Sunday before Advent, anticipates the day when Christ will reign supreme, and the saints of God will never again leave the presence of their Lord.

TODAY’S THEME Restore Our Fortunes, O LORD, Psalm 126

The Lord has done great things for us, and we are glad. We may sow in tears, but we will reap with shouts of joy. This day we join the Psalmist both to give thanks and to plead for restoration. We give thanks for what the Lord has done. He has been good to us. He never fails. We also plead for restoration. Restore our fortunes, O Lord. Send your living water to this dry and thirsty world. You came to us the first time and wept in suffering. Come again with shouts of joy to gather your harvest.
