Four Reasons Why We Create Church Planting Teams!

1. Because it is biblical . Creating missionary teams for the planting of urban churches is theologically sound for it imitates the model of Jesus and the early apostles.

2. It is in community (in relationship to a team) that you experience the full blessings of the promises of God. Many of God’s promises, spoken in his word are fulfilled when acted upon within the context of a team.

“Consequently you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with all God’s people and members of God’s household....” “In him you are joined together and rise to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in him you are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.” - Ephesians 2.19, 21-22

3. It is in community that you are given opportunity to fully obey the commands of God. Independent missionaries, those who do not create team, work to maintain team and march alongside team into the battles of ministry, cannot walk in full obedience to the Word of God.

The Call of Jesus:

“My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.” - John 15.12

“This is my command, love one another.” - John 15.17

“By this shall all men know that you are my disciples, that you love one another.” - John 13.35

“Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourself.” - Romans 12.10

“Carry each others burdens, and in this way you fulfill the law of Christ.” - Galatians 6.2

“Serve one another in love.” - Galatians 5.13

“Be completely humble and gentle, be patient, bearing with one another in love.” - Ephesians 4.2

“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other just as Christ forgave you.” - Ephesians 4.32
