3. The global nature of this call to witness is made explicit again by Christ himself in Acts 1.8 (i.e., Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and to the uttermost parts of the earth).

4. This constitutes a charge to go into every nation, state, among every culture and clan to declare plainly the good news of the Kingdom to those who have yet to hear of God’s love in Jesus Christ, Rom. 15.20-21.

B. The call to evangelism is directly related to the charge to be ministers of reconciliation, 2 Cor. 5.18-21.

1. God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself.

2. God has given to the Church the ministry of reconciliation and now, through us, calls the world to be reconciled to him through Christ.

3. Finally, as the ambassadors of Jesus Christ, we bear witness in the world of God’s saving grace in Christ, inviting all to receive God’s mercy and escape his judgment through his Son, Jesus Christ.

C. Moreover, the New Testament tells us what mode and manner we are to go. As we are going into the world to share the Gospel, we are to become all things to all people in order to save some, 1 Cor. 9.19-23.

1. Communicate the truth of the Gospel in ways that the lost can comprehend it, using our freedom in Christ to make the Good News plain and clear.
