Feeling

Truth

I can’t stand it any longer.

I can live a satisfactory and happy life even if he doesn’t treat me as I want him to. My life can be fulfilling and enjoyable even if he never changes. I’m not wasting my life. I’m believing in God to work in my wife’s heart and make her the person he wants her to be. I am also believing God is working in my own heart, making me the person he wants me to be.

I’m wasting my life.

Once you list a feeling and a contrasting truth, write ideas that help you reconcile feelings to truth. Write Playfully can be a freeing experience, but it can be messy. Do not expect it to be a linear process. You may go back and forth several times before you reconcile your feelings to truth. So-What? If you find it difficult to Write Playfully , it can be helpful to use “so-what?” questions to get to the core issue, uncovering the lies you are believing. For example, you discover you are worried about your daughter’s grades. • Asking so-what?: “If my daughter fails in school, she won’t get into a good university.” • Asking so-what?: “If she doesn’t go to a good school, there may not be anyone to care for me in my old age.” • Asking so-what?: “If there is no one to care for me, I will die alone under a bridge somewhere.” The process of “so-what?” helps you recognize the absurdity of basing so much your destiny on a brief moment of difficulty at school. You can see that you are not trusting God for your life,
