Think Again!

128 • Think Again: Transformation That Yields a Return on God’s Investment

4. While eating lunch, I remember my slogan. 5. At 3 PM I review a list of leadership affirmations, so I remember my slogan at the same time. 6. Going home from the office is another time to consider my slogan. 7. At bedtime, I have a reminder in my medicine cabinet to remember my slogan. An Example from Chapter 2 Remember the story in Chapter 2 about my friend Paul, who asked me to consider giving up my office? Had I used this process I would have avoided much grief. First, had I started with Pray Subordinately , I would have allowed the Spirit to change my focus from myself, and I would be open to an opportunity for God to forge my character. Next, had I used Gather Subjectively to list my feelings of disrespect, I would have detected the anger boiling inside of me. I may have noticed the pillaging scheme of the enemy to have me voluntarily discard my ministry over nothing.

Then, had I used Focus Objectively , listing the truth of the situation, I could have listed:

• Paul is a good friend and fellow warrior in ministry. • Paul has not shown any history of disrespect up until now. • There is an adversary who can deceive me. • Every problem has a cosmic origin and is never what it seems on the surface.
