6. I explain this process as an individual exercise, but you can easily follow these same steps in conversation with a friend. If doing this alone seems difficult, ask someone to help you. The one exception is the step to Write Playfully , where you must put pencil to paper, reconciling your feelings to truth. However, even in Write Playfully , feel free to share your writing with someone who can give feedback on your ideas. 7. Many approaches to mental health focus on finding the source of the difficulty. While this may be helpful in some cases, spend your time and effort discovering truth and latching on to it. You can waste a lot of time trying to find the source of lies and never get to the truth. It is the truth that sets you free. 8. Some situations are complex and may require professional help. Some may even have a biochemical source. The ideas in this book are not intended to discourage counseling or avoid medication. Do not let the enemy accuse you of failure if you obtain professional assistance. Pray Subordinately, Gather Subjectively, Focus Objectively, Write Playfully, Re-wire Decisively, and Execute Repetitively . This process has helped me to Think Again , doing the work of spiritual warfare: demolishing, detaining, and defending against the devil’s pillaging work. The next section will help you apply this forging work to produce a return on God’s investment.
