76 • Think Again: Transformation That Yields a Return on God’s Investment

of all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us” (Eph. 3.16-20).

We are equipped to fight the enemy with power as the Spirit leads us into truth (John 16.13; 2 Thess. 2.13).

If we are to be forged into the image of Christ, we need power that is outside ourselves. Notice how the Holy Spirit’s work is characterized by power, action, and truth: • He gives us power, love, and self-control (2 Tim. 1.7) • We received power when He came (Acts 1.8) • He helps us in our weakness (Rom. 8.26) • He gives us wisdom (Isa. 11.2) • He gives us strength for battle (Isa. 28.6) • He teaches us, reminding us what Jesus said (John 14.26) • He refreshes us (John 7.38-39) • He sets our minds on life and peace (Rom. 8.6) • He has power to raise Jesus (and us) from the dead (Rom. 8.11) • Walking in him we are free from obedience to the flesh (Gal. 5.16) • He provides gifts so we can for serve (1 Cor. 13; Rom. 12; 1 Pet. 4) • He provides weapons for our warfare (Eph. 6.10-20) • He fills us with joy, thanksgiving, and mutual submission (Eph. 5.18-21) • He is the guarantee of our future inheritance (Eph. 1.13-14; 4.30)
