CHAPTER 10 The Difficulties of Life

The enemy pillages. He longs to dispossess you, discourage you, and tempt you to self-destructive behavior. His math is based on subtraction. God provides. He desires to produce a return on his investment, overflowing in blessing and abundance for others. His math is based on multiplication.

On one side the enemy pillages ; on the other side God provides . In the middle, you participate based on the choices you make.

God’s provision is given so he can unleash our potential against the devil. He is looking to invest in daring people with daring plans, people who are willing to go where darkness reigns; people who are more afraid of missed opportunities than failure. Mark Batterson said, “I would like to think that when I pronounce the benediction at the end or our church services, I am sending dangerous people back into their natural habitat to wreak havoc on the Enemy.” 50
