CHAPTER 11 3-D Forging: Demolish, Detain, Defend

God reveals how to be forged into the image of Christ: 54 For the weapons of our warfare . . . have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ, being ready to punish every disobedience, when your obedience is complete (2 Cor. 10.4-6). We have to demolish the strongholds that have built up in our brains over time. We also have to detain new lies that come at us in the present. Finally, we have be prepared to defend the ground already taken by punishing disobedience that comes back in the future. Demolishing Strongholds of the Past Strongholds have formed in your brain by the lies you have believed. 55 When ideas come at you (even as you read the words on the page before you), neurons form in your brain. It has been estimated that you have as many as 30,000 thoughts per day. These neurons cluster into branches called dendrites that become hardened over time. If you continue to reinforce these branches, after a few weeks of sustained belief, they grow and become permanent habits and attitudes.
