2. This is a battle for authority: Whose will should prevail in all matters of creation and destiny?

a. Isa. 43.10 – “You are my witnesses,” declares the LORD, “and my servant whom I have chosen, that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Before me no god was formed, nor shall there be any after me.”

b. Isa. 44.8 – Fear not, nor be afraid; have I not told you from of old and declared it? And you are my witnesses! Is there a God besides me? There is no Rock; I know not any.

3. This is a battle for glory: Who is worthy to receive the praise and glory for the splendor of creation and life? Ps. 115.1-3 – Not to us, O LORD, not to us, but to your name give glory, for the sake of your steadfast love and your faithfulness! [2] Why should the nations say, “Where is their God?” [3] Our God is in the heavens; he does all that he pleases.

The Fight Is On! God declares that, because of sin and rebellion, the entire universe is at war. Since the creation of the universe, a battle has been raging in the heavenlies where God has determined to rescue the universe from the effects of the curse of Satan and the fi rst human pair. Every thing is at stake, and not one square inch is not being contested. It is a knock-down, drag-out warfare for the fi nal control and destiny of creation. It is a battle for preeminence in the universe!
