Salient Facts about the World Harvest

• One third of the world’s population lives in a vast, specific part of the world called the “10/40 Window.” • 90% of the poorest of the poor live in and around this window. • Nearly 95% of all of the Western Church’s missionary resources are being spent on the part of the world which has had the Gospel for the last 100 years; only 5% is spent on the vast majority of unreached peoples. • 3 million Buddhists, 4 million Muslims; by 2000 more Muslims than Presbyterians, and by 2005 more Muslims than all Jews. • 1700 unreached people groups, 130 “Gateway” people groups. • Vast unreached mission field among the unreached urban poor.
