his labor. For we are God’s fellow workers. You are God’s field, God’s building.

1. After all is said and done, we are only servants of the Lord.

2. Neither the one who plants or waters is anything, only the Lord who gives the increase.

3. All we offer is ourselves; God alone must do the rest.

C. We may never know the full extent of our ministry effect, but we know that in the end we will receive the reward of the Lord. 1 Cor. 15.58 – Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain. 1 Cor. 4.4-5 – For I am not aware of anything against myself, but I am not thereby acquitted. It is the Lord who judges me. Therefore do not pronounce judgment before the time, before the Lord comes, who will bring to light the things now hidden in darkness and will disclose the purposes of the heart. Then each one will receive his commendation from God.

1. We have no certain knowledge of the effect we have left.

2. We cannot determine the extent of our fruitfulness in advance of Christ’s judgment.

3. What we know for certain is that nothing done for Christ is in vain - absolutely nothing.
