2. Traditions, where informed by Scripture and led by the Holy Spirit, seek to make the Gospel clear within new cultures or sub-cultures, speaking and modeling the hope of Christ into new situations shaped by their own set of questions posed in light of their own unique circumstances.

3. Traditions are essentially movements of contextualization , that is they are attempts to make plain within people groups the Authoritative tradition in a way that faithfully and effectively leads them to faith in Jesus Christ.

4. We ought, therefore, to explore tradition as a means by which we ourselves may be encouraged and empowered to obey the teachings of Christ, confessing him as Lord, and giving witness to him to others.

5. Remember: Tradition is rooted in the remembrance, celebration, enactment, and proclamation of the story of God’s promise to redeem and save a people for his own.
