worthy of the calling to which you have been called, [2] with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, [3] eager to main tain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. [4] There is one body and one Spirit – just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call – [5] one Lord, one faith, one baptism, [6] one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. b. We are one body, and members of each other, Rom. 12.4-5 (ESV) – For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, [5] so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.
c. We partake of the same bread, 1 Cor. 10.17 (ESV) – Because there is one bread, we who are many are one body, for we all partake of the one bread.
d. One body with many members, 1 Cor. 12.12-13 (ESV) – For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. [13] For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body – Jews or Greeks, slaves or free – and all were made to drink of one Spirit.
e. Many parts, one body, 1 Cor. 12.20 (ESV) – As it is, there are many parts, yet one body.
f. We were called by God into a single living entity, Col. 3.15 (ESV) – And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.
