What must it be like to step on a new shore , and find it – heaven To take hold of a strong hand , and find it – God’s hand; To breathe a new air , and find it – Celestial air; To feel truly invigorated , and find it – Immortality; To rise from the care, the loneliness, and turmoil of earth Into one unbroken calm ; To wake up and find it – Glory.

B. Connection to your ministry in the city and the church

Acts 2.36 Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.

1. Ground others in the truth of Jesus’ humiliation and exaltation, Phil. 2.5.

2. Renew in the midst of your ministry the spirit of affirmation, recognition, and celebration, Phil. 4.4.

3. Enable others to apply these truths to the practical issues in their lives, 2 Tim. 3.15-17.

4. Train others to harness the power of prayer to God in the name of the risen Lord Jesus, John 15.7, 16; John 16.23-24 – In that day you will ask nothing of me. Truly, truly, I say to you, whatever you ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. [24] Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.
