c. Gal. 3.16 – Now the promises were made to Abraham and to his offspring. It does not say, “And to offsprings,” referring to many, but referring to one, “And to your offspring,” who is Christ.

2. Jesus is the Prophet like Moses to whom the nation of Israel would obey and follow, Deut. 18.18-19 – I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers. And I will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I command him. [19] And whoever will not listen to my words that he shall speak in my name, I myself will require it of him.

a. Recalls the victory of Yahweh at the Red Sea, and the Song of Moses and Miriam in triumphant victory, Exod. 15

b. “[T]he song of Moses (the Old Testament victor) has become the song of the Lamb (the New Testament victor), praising God for the greatness of his deeds and the justice of his ways” (Stott, pp. 207-08).

3. The reaper of the harvest of God is one “like a son of man,” the One who will make all things right again in this world that has rebelled against the authority of God, Dan. 7.13-14 – I saw in the night visions, and behold, with the clouds of heaven there came one like a son of man, and he came to the Ancient of Days and was pre sented before him. [14] And to him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve him; his dominion is an ever lasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom one that shall not be destroyed.

H. Christ is the Sudden Invasion, coming like a thief in the night to settle all accounts, (Rev. 15.5-19.10).
