no trust, nor sincerely take the step of faith unless he or she is willing to obey what the leader says.

A. His selection of the apostles
1. He chose them in deep prayer to his Father, Mark 3.13-15 – And he went up on the mountain and called to him those whom he desired, and they came to him. [14] And he appointed twelve (whom he also named apostles) so that they might be with him and he might send them out to preach [15] and have authority to cast out demons.
2. He chose them to minister alongside him and bear fruit in his name.
a. Luke 6.13 – And when day came, he called his disciples and chose from them twelve, whom he named apostles . . .
b. John 15.19 – If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.
c. John 15.16 – “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that what ever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.”
3. He taught them regarding the kingdom promise, and his identity as the Messiah come, Matt. 13.
