e. Isa. 35.8 – And a highway shall be there, and it shall be called the Way of Holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it. It shall belong to those who walk on the way; even if they are fools, they shall not go astray.

2. The practical insight : All of us will practice better under the advice and counsel of a suitable spiritual director.

3. The implementation : Ask God to give you the kind of spiritual direction you need to grow in this area of personal discipline.

E. Start at the beginning and with feasible goals.

1. The biblical idea

a. Deut. 7.22 – The Lord your God will clear away these nations before you little by little. You may not make an end of them at once, lest the wild beasts grow too numerous for you.

b. Exod. 23.29-30 – I will not drive them out from before you in one year, lest the land become desolate and the wild beasts multiply against you. [30] Little by little I will drive them out from before you, until you have increased and possess the land.
