a. Extended and/or special times of convening and seeking the Lord

(1) Ps. 77.2 – In the day of my trouble I seek the Lord; in the night my hand is stretched out with out wearying; my soul refuses to be comforted. (2) Ps. 105.3-4 – Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice! [4] Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually! (3) Isa. 51.1 – Listen to me, you who pursue righteousness, you who seek the Lord: look to the rock from which you were hewn, and to the quarry from which you were dug.

b. The Lord Jesus, Mark 6.31 – And he said to them, “Come away by yourselves to a desolate place and rest a while.” For many were coming and going, and they had no leisure even to eat.

c. Daniel in seeking God’s timing regarding the captivity of Jerusalem, Dan. 9.1-3 – In the first year of Darius the son of Ahasuerus, by descent a Mede, who was made king over the realm of the Chaldeans – [2] in the first year of his reign, I, Daniel, perceived in the books the number of years that, according to the word of the Lord to Jeremiah the prophet, must pass before the end of the desolations of Jerusalem, namely, seventy years. [3] Then I turned my face to the Lord God, seeking him by prayer and pleas for mercy with fasting and sackcloth and ashes. 7. Regular, formal times to be alone and silent before the Lord, Dan. 6.3-5 – Then this Daniel became distinguished above all the other presidents and satraps, because an excellent spirit was in him. And the king planned to set him over the whole kingdom. [4] Then the presidents and the satraps sought to find a ground for complaint
