against Daniel with regard to the kingdom, but they could find no ground for complaint or any fault, because he was faithful, and no error or fault was found in him. 1. Coming apart to a secluded place together for rest and refreshment, Mark 6.31 – And he said to them, “Come away by yourselves to a desolate place and rest a while.” For many were coming and going, and they had no leisure even to eat. 2. Setting aside time for special seasons of seeking the Lord together, Joel 2.15-18 – Blow the trumpet in Zion; consecrate a fast; call a solemn assembly; [16] gather the people. Consecrate the congregation; assemble the elders; gather the children, even nursing infants. Let the bridegroom leave his room, and the bride her chamber. Why should they say among the peoples, ‘Where is their God?’”[18] Then the Lord became jealous for his land and had pity on his people. 3. Intercession: supplications offered by members of the community on behalf of the community, see Daniel 9.3-7 – Then I turned my face to the Lord God, seeking him by prayer and pleas for mercy with fasting and sackcloth and ashes. [4] I prayed to the Lord my God and made confession, saying, “O Lord, the great and awesome God, who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, [5] we have sinned and done wrong and acted wickedly and rebelled, turning aside from your commandments and rules.
