b. Execute justice for the disenfranchised (the widow, the fatherless, the alien), Deut. 10.18-19 – He executes justice for the fatherless and the widow, and loves the sojourner, giving him food and clothing. [19] Love the sojourner, therefore, for you were sojourners in the land of Egypt. c. The true fast before the Lord, Isa. 58.7 – Is it not to share your bread with the hungry and bring the homeless poor into your house; when you see the naked, to cover him, and not to hide yourself from your own flesh?

d. Be generous to the saints for hospitality’s sake, Rom. 12.13 – Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality.

e. Show hospitality without begrudging, 1 Pet. 4.9 – Show hospitality to one another without grumbling.

8. Recognition of servanthood is more a calling, rather than a series of acts; we are called to be servants – at home, to our families, to our neighbors, and to the world.
