b. God’s design for the body is that we serve together and that our works are fruitful, Col. 1.10 – . . . so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.

c. Our good works are to be conspicuous, open for all to see and observe, 1 Tim. 5.25 – So also good works are conspicuous, and even those that are not cannot remain hidden.

d. Those of great means in our midst are called to serve as well, 1 Tim. 6.18 – They are to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share.

e. Leaders of the body are to especially be an example of true service to others, Titus 2.7 – Show yourself in all respects to be a model of good works, and in your teaching show integrity, dignity.

3. We are called to be prepared for and devoted to good works.

a. We should be ready to engage at any time, Titus 3.1 – Remind them to be submissive to rulers and author ities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good work.

b. Our life together should involve a devotion to service, Titus 3.8 – The saying is trustworthy, and I want you to insist on these things, so that those who have believed in God may be careful to devote themselves to good works. These things are excellent and profitable for people.

c. This orientation is something we are to learn, Titus 3.14 – And let our people learn to devote themselves
