Prayer and Affirmation to God
The kingdom of God came to break into the kingdom of darkness. It must grow and grow until the kingdom of the world becomes the kingdom of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. To enter the kingdom of God, we must die to ourselves. Many people want to keep on doing their own will even after they are saved. This is the reason Jesus says that those who want to save their own lives are going to lose them. And those who lose their lives are going to save them. Many people come to church wanting to live their own lives, but to live your own life means you are bypassing the will of Jesus.
~ Juan Carlos Ortiz. Call to Discipleship . Plainfield, NJ: Logos International, 1975. p. 41.
And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it. For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses or forfeits himself?” ~ Luke 9.23-25
