(4) Ps. 66.18 – If I had cherished iniquity in my heart, the Lord would not have listened.
(5) Isa. 57.15 – For thus says the One who is high and lifted up, who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: “I dwell in the high and holy place, and also with him who is of a contrite and lowly spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly, and to revive the heart of the contrite.” (6) Matt. 15.8-9 – This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me; [9] in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.
b. We have been set apart by God for his own purposes and glory, Ps. 4.3 – But know that the Lord has set apart the godly for himself; the Lord hears when I call to him.
c. All things have been created for the glory of the Lord, Prov. 16.4 – The Lord has made everything for its purpose, even the wicked for the day of trouble.
d. All things in the universe were made by God in Christ through him and for him, Col. 1.16 – For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities – all things were created through him and for him. e. As priests of God, we are to offer up a continuous sacrifice of praise to God, Heb. 13.15 – Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name.
