and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. [9] And they sang a new song, saying,"Worthy are you to take the scroll and to open its seals, for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation, [10] and you have made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they shall reign on the earth." b. The priority of worship is anchored in the call to the people of God to love him with all the heart, soul, mind, and strength. (1) Deut. 6.4-5 – Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. [5] You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. (2) Mark 12.29-31 – Jesus answered, “The most important is, ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. [30] And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ [31] The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” c. The preparation of worship is anchored on the Father’s desire for worshipers who worship him in spirit and in truth. (1) In brokenness and contriteness, Isa. 57.15 – For thus says the One who is high and lifted up, who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: “I dwell in the high and holy place, and also with him who is of a contrite and lowly spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly, and to revive the heart of the contrite.”
