(2) In the Scriptures, 2 Tim. 3.16-17

(3) In Jesus Christ, John 1.14-18

c. He does have a purpose in life and is moving all things toward the fulfillment of that purpose, 2 Tim. 1.9.

2. Absolute truth regarding the nature of morality and spirituality does exist, and we will be held accountable for it.

a. God is the God of truth, Deut. 32.4 – The Rock, his work is perfect, for all his ways are justice. A God of faithfulness and without iniquity, just and upright is he.

b. Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, John 14.6.

c. The Church is the pillar and ground of the truth (i.e., the custodian of the revelatory word of God regarding Christ and his Kingdom), 1 Tim. 3.15-16 – if I delay, you may know how one ought to behave in the house hold of God, which is the church of the living God, a pillar and buttress of truth. [16] Great indeed, we confess, is the mystery of godliness: He was manifested in the flesh, vindicated by the Spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among the nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory.

3. God in Jesus Christ has offered us salvation through his perfect life, redemptive death, and victorious resurrection.

a. We have been saved from penalty of sin and the fear of death because of our own iniquity and transgression, Rom. 5.1; John 1.12-13; 1 Cor. 1.30-31.
