Band of Brothers - Why We Fight

SIAFU Mens Conference, Band of Brothers: Why We Fight Rev. Dr. Don L. Davis, p. 25

B. B REAK IT DOWN ! We must persevere in the fight, regardless of how difficult the trials may be

1. We must hold on to what we have, and grow stronger in the things of God, Job 17.9

2. We must stand our ground, and go on to multiply and be victorious in all that God demands of us and gives us to do, Mark 4.3-8

3. We enter into the Kingdom of God only after enduring significant and constant trials in this life, as we represent Jesus of Nazareth, Acts 14.21-22

C. C HECK THIS OUT . As warriors of God, we come to persevere as we remember who we are, stay sober and alert, and never give up

1. We must remember who we are, to whom we belong, and what is taking place in this fight we are in, Eph. 6.10-18

2. We must stay sober and alert, for the enemy is looking for a foothold in our lives by which he can undermine our warfare, 1 Pet. 5.8-9

3. We must recognize that warriors all over the world are encountering the same kinds of battles, and determine never to give up or in, no matter how hard the fight may be, 1 Pet. 5.9; Gal. 6.7-10; 1 Thess. 3.3; 2 Tim. 3.12

D. M AKE IT P LAIN . We must determine to share in suffering with our brothers as good soldiers of Jesus Christ, 2 Tim. 2.3

1. So what? To be a solder is to deny yourself the fineries and amenities of life; you got to go hard if you plan to go long!, Rom. 8.35-39
