Hold Nothing Back: Don’t Remain Alone, John 12.24

New International Version Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. New Living Translation I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat is planted in the soil and dies, it remains alone. But its death will produce many new kernels--a plentiful harvest of new lives. English Standard Version Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit. New American Standard Bible Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit. King James Bible Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. Holman Christian Standard Bible I assure you: Unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains by itself. But if it dies, it produces a large crop.

When Totally Surrounded, Move Forward!

The Battle of Chosin Reservoir has been recorded as one of the most vicious and nasty engagements of the entire Korean War, especially so since the Chinese military in full strength surrounded the exhausted U.N. forces from every direction. When outnumbered and completely surrounded, Lieutenant General Lewis Burwell "Chesty" Puller, the most decorated U.S. Marine in history, calmly surveyed the hopeless situation and said, "They're on our right, they're on our left, they're in front of us, they're behind us; they can't get away from us this time." Ultimately, the U.N. forces would break through the blockade by the Chinese, and free themselves from their “hopeless” situation.
