a. The Dead Sea Scrolls discovered in the 1940’s and 50’s give us an OT text dating back to before AD 70. That is about 1000 years older than any texts we had before that time.

b. In 1898, 35 new manuscripts of the NT were found in Egypt. In the 20th century, nearly 100 manuscripts with portions of the NT have been discovered.

a. English Standard Version - ESV

b. New King James Version (or King James Version) - NKJV or KJV

c. New International Version - NIV

d. New Revised Standard Version (or Revised Standard Version) - NRSV or RSV
