He enlarged the borders of the nation, and conquered all its territories. He amassed a host of captives, taking dominion over Gazara, Beth-zur, and the Akra, removing their uncleanness, and none could stand against him. and the trees of the field their fruit. The elders sat together in their streets, discussing the pleasant things of the land, while the young men tried on their armor. He supplied the cities with food, and equipped them with fortifications, such that his fame was known throughout the world. He brought peace to the earth, and Israel rejoiced with great rejoicing.
