Conclusion
» The Word calls us to discipleship , to participate in God’s grand kingdom story in a committed life of discipleship. » We are called to love Jesus supremely , above marriage and family, in such a way that his glory and concerns take center stage in our lives. » We are called to live as aliens and sojourners in this world , living free to be available to him however he leads us. » We are called to become sacrificial servants to his glory , dying to ourselves that we might live to his glory. Please take as much time as you have available to answer these and other questions that the video brought out. Answer the questions below, make certain you grasp the critical ideas about how the Word calls us to live a radical life of discipleship, under the lordship of Jesus Christ. Be clear and concise in your answers, and where possible, support with Scripture! 1. What is the relationship between God’s Word which calls us to repent and believe in Jesus Christ, and that same Word that calls to live as disciples of Jesus? Explain your answer. 2. What is involved in “loving Jesus supremely” above all other things, including marriage and family? How are we to understand one’s allegiance to Jesus compared to other allegiances? Explain. 3. What is the connection between living faithful as a radical disciple of Jesus Christ and experiencing persecution? Is there any way we can avoid such persecution, and still be a disciple of Jesus? 4. What does it mean that we are to “embrace our new identity in Christ as aliens and sojourners in this world?” What does Scripture say about those who claim to be intimate with God and yet love the world and its evil systems? 5. As representatives of the coming Kingdom of God, to what extent should Christians seek to gain the world’s riches, fame, and power? Explain carefully your answer.
